Woolen project 1 - mini Stole

The weather is slowly turning cold.
Its cloudy and ready to pour
A hot tea and something warm to wear,
Pitter patter raindrops so big so bold.

Let me share something warm I made. My first wollen project - A small stole, just enough to cover my neck. Its around 23 inches long.

I casted on 30 stiches to start, but that you can choose depending on the width of the stole you want to make. Just ensure that the number of stitches is an even number. Its the most simple and a quick stole to make.

Pattern:
Row 1- knit, yarn over twice (follow this till the end of the row, ending with a knit)
Row 2 & 3 - knit
Follow the two steps to the desired length.

Simple isnt it.

And yes I can use it as a scarf too. Pretty na!

I used gimp for the image makeover, I'm just a beginner, so the pic looks a little weird.

Cosmetic pouch

Its time for another little magic!!!

While talking about styles and occasions its not limited to something big. It could be as small as a family getting together. And it does take some effort in keeping things in place, making house look beautiful or atleast presentable. Think about all those small things which usually find place in plastic bundles, and thrown into cupboards for "time being". These bundles are forever left there, until we realize there is something you can't find and assume, it could be in those bundles. Oh! imagine all the trouble undoing the bundles, pouring all the things and searching within the unkept garbage :(.
In my previous post I spoke about using old cloth to make useful little mats and today I will talk about how we can make little pouches for keeping similar small things in place and avoiding misplacing them.
Here's my trick, you can use your own ideas to make this better.
I had two cut pieces of a jeans pant. I got these pieces while altering the pant to proper length.

Normal scenario - you would throw those pieces.

These pieces were around 6inches long and stitched on both sides.I just stitched one end each of these pieces together. Then folded them at the center, where I joined the two pieces together. This showed up two open sides. My idea was to make this my cosmetic pouch. So I slid different cosmetic items, like mascara, lipstick etc., With that as measurement simply tucked on. This created smaller spaces within the pouch to hold items. And this is what I got:

Woolen projects..

I am going the woolen way...

I know its summer time and WOOLEN! sounds odd. Its just a preparation to welcome winter with some fashion and style.

How about a cap and a stole? I could not get too creative with the cap, but for the stole - its completely innovative and I just love the way it looks.

I'll surely put up the pictures and the pattern for others to try. Those projects are on the way and will be right here once done.

Thanks to all the people who have emailed me with very encouraging comments. I'll soon put up a blogroll on my sidebar to link up all the great blogs I follow.

Impressive effects

I know this sort of seems crazy. But I would like to always experiment with colors. What I did this time was to try different shades of the same picture. Truly it creates an impression, a mood. Like a candlelight for a perfect romantic night!
For some reason I ended up buying this very vibrant pink nailpolish. I just love it so much now. When I put it on, my nails look like little petals. I don't have a great camera to show you what I exactly mean. Someday, when I purchase a better camera and shape my nails and put on this pink shade, may be you'll end up seeing another post ;)
I'm so very sure, most of you might have played around with these shades. These shades or effects are used often but go so unnoticed, though they create such an impact on pictures. Some which I could create for this post are here:
GrayscaleSepiaNegative
SolariseFalse ColorNormal

With this experiment, I have decided to buy a blue nailpolish now.

Rosina's Photoshoot

I should say this is my favourite post. I am 25 and still love playing with my dolls. They have been my greater inspiration right from childhood. They just behave the way you want to and patiently wait as you do their hair, try your creative little clothes on them.

Ok here's a small photoshoot of my little dollie, I named it Rosina when I was young and she came as my birthday present :) I have not stopped pampering my doll.
I have stitched numerous dresses for my doll. But I could find only two :(.. Anyway here's one in blue. Does she not look cute. And I am adding a picture of her hairdo. Its not very clear though. All my pictures are out of 2mp camera on my cell.
Ok ok now here, without wasting much time talking, last two pics of my rosina cutie :) With her green flair dress.
